Book review: The Killing Tide (Coastal Guardians #1) by Dani Pettrey

The Killing Tide is everything one expects to find in a Dani Pettrey novel; it is fast-paced romantic suspense.
The cast of characters was interesting, I enjoyed reading about Finn Walker, Noah Rowley, and the rest of their CGIS team. However, Gabby drove me crazy all through the book with her “I love him, but…”, her “I do not need a battle buddy” attitude, and her reckless endangerment of her friends. Just once I would love to read a Christian suspense book where the heroine accepts the help offered to her by her family and friends; everyone needs someone to have their back. I would also have enjoyed it more if, for a while at least, Gabby would have been willing to give up her dream career for her relationship with Finn.
Overall I enjoyed the plot, and the suspense in The Killing Tide was fairly good. I will be eagerly awaiting book two in the Coastal Guardians series and the return of Noah and the CGIS team.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
